NURTURING CURIOUS MINDS;

FOSTERING MEANINGFUL EXPLORATION

Beyond Classroom Learning

Explorer Junior was incubated at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Enterprise in 2014 to nurture children's curiosity and allow them to explore and develop their interests.

We believe that learning happens beyond classrooms and we can develop 21st-century skills beyond academic excellence.

We have more than 6 years of experience nurturing 5000+ explorers from Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Shenzhen, China

Our Focus

STEAM Skills Mastery &
21st Century Competencies Development

In the age of AI (Artificial Intelligence), STEAM subjects and soft skills like analytical thinking will be key for the jobs of tomorrow, according to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs report

Besides developing a good grasp of technical knowledge in STEAM subjects, we aim to equip our explorers with necessary 21st-century competencies - also known as the Explorer Mindset. We believe that these competencies will help them navigate in the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world we live in today where there is demand for roles to differentiate and need to bridge the gaps between humans and machines.

Social Consciousness

"What problem would you like to solve?"

Most of the projects that children embark on during our classes are anchored on social or environmental issues they are familiar with.

It means a lot to us that as we nurture children's 'head' and 'hand', we develop their 'hearts' - and an awareness of their role as part of their communities.

Digital Literacy & Citizenship

We are raising a generation of tech natives. Through our classes, we focus on enabling our students with access to digital tools and skillsets to co-create solutions for different problems. We also aim to raise explorers who are confident and resourceful tech creators.

How do we do it?

We do so through:

PROPRIETARY PROGRAMS AND PRODUCTS DESIGNED WITH EVIDENCE-BASED METHODOLOGIES

Problem-based Learning

Through adopting a problem-based learning approach, we develop critical thinking skills of our students as they focus on authentic real-life problems and community issues.

We believe this helps children gain confidence and learn skill sets to tackle any problems that come their way.

STEAM Interdisciplinary Approach

We believe in integrated learning. STEAM is an interdisciplinary approach that emphasizes  5 specific disciplines -  Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. We believe this helps curious children to explore and connect knowledge of the world in meaningful ways.

Design Thinking.png

Design-Thinking

A human-centered thinking approach to creative problem solving developed by Larry Leifer, David Kelley, and Terry Winograd from Stanford University d.school.

Projects are designed to focus on problem-solving and giving children faith in their creative abilities to transform difficult challenges into opportunities.

The Explorer Mindset

The Explorer Mindset is central to our class development. We want to nurture children with 21st Century competencies who are ready to be the captains of their own adventures!
