Calling all young sustainability heroes! - Have you wondered why we plant trees along the roads and build beautiful parks in our towns? - Have you heard of climatic changes and wondered how scientists and architects are trying to mitigate the environmental issues we are facing? - Have you seen solar panels along the streets or on the rooftops of buildings and houses and wondered what are they for? - Should we still build roads for cars since traditional cars emit a lot of pollutants? Join us for our 5-day Jr Architect Minecraft Bootcamp! You will get to learn more about these topics and have a chance to build your own virtual communities with other participants in Minecraft! Session details: Age: 8 - 12 Years Old Date: 28 Nov - 2 Dec 2022 Time: 2pm - 6pm (GMT +8) Location: Explorer Junior Siglap (50 Siglap Drive, S456174) What will you be doing? - Learn and understand food security and urban farming techniques and challenge to build your own farming landscapes in Minecraft - Learn and understand about different types of non-renewable vs renewable energies and how to build them in Minecraft - Learn and understand carbon emission and climatic actions and some urban planning techniques that are used to cool down the urban landscape - Create a sustainable community in a team of 3 to 5 and share your ideas with the rest of the participants in a simple presentation - Participants stand a chance to win different prizes! What can you look forward to? - Meet and interact with Explorers - Learn 3D building with Google Jamboard and Minecraft Education Edition - Collaborate with fellow Explorers in groups and work on their final project - Have fun while unleashing your creativity and problem-solving skills And more! Requirements: - Participants must know the basics of using a laptop or computer. - Participants will be required to bring their own laptops.
